Dr. Mark Bishara
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Dr. Mark Bishara completed his undergraduate studies in medical biophysics, at the University of Western Ontario and was a gold medal recipient as top graduate of his program. He went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. Since graduating, he practices in the Durham region with a focus on digital workflow, dental implants, bone grafting material regeneration and tissue regeneration. He currently collaborates with members of the Miron Lab in the United States on tissue regeneration utilizing Platelet Rich Fibrin(PRF). He is a published author on PRF , immediate dental implants and clinical applications. He is the President and founder of the Canadian Implant Dentistry Network, Canada’s largest online implant community. He is on the advisory board of Spectrum Implants, the only peer reviewed implant journal in Canada as the Implants Product Review Editor.

Dr. Richard Miron

Dr. Richard Miron is currently an affiliated Professor in the department of Periodontology at the University of Bern in Switzerland where he performed his PhD. He also serves as a visiting professor in 3 dental schools including in Wuhan, China (Oral Implantology) UIC in Barcelona, Spain (Oral Surgery), and previously as an Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. From 2015-2016, he served as the head of the Oral Biology Laboratory at one of the highest ranking dental school’s in the world (University of Bern, Switzerland) under Chairs Professor Anton Sculean (Periodontology) and Daniel Buser (Oral Surgery). He completed his undergraduate degree and Masters in Cell Biology at the University of Western Ontario in Canada, a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology and a dr. med. dent. thesis at the University of Bern, Switzerland, and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Laval, Canada. He has currently published over 150 peer-reviewed articles in the top ranking dental and biomaterials journals and is the primary editor of two textbooks.
His main research interests involve the use of growth factors used for bone and periodontal regeneration, osteoinductive bone grafting materials; collagen barrier membranes and guided bone regeneration in implant dentistry. Dr. Miron is widely considered one of the top young investigators in the field of implant dentistry having recently been awarded many internationally recognized prizes including the International Team for Implantology (ITI) Andre Schroeder Prize (2016), the International Association of Dental Research (IADR) Young Investigator of the Year in the field of Implant Dentistry (2015), the Canadian IADR Hatton Award recipient (2015), and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Young Investigator Grant Award (2014).
Dr. Miron and Dr. Joseph Choukroun recently edited a 15 chapter textbook titled: “Platelet Rich Fibrin in Regenerative Dentistry: Biological Background and Clinical Indications” gathering collaborations from 20 co-authors from around the globe. Furthermore, a second textbook titled: “Next Generation Biomaterials for Bone and Periodontal Biomaterials” is currently underway in collaboration with Dr. Yufeng Zhang. Together they have formed one of the strongest regenerative labs in the dental field focused on the development of new biomaterials utilized in dentistry introduced to the markets in North America, Europe and Asia.
Born and raised on the South shore of Montréal, Dr Katiya attended Mcgill University in Anatomy and Histology prior to entering the Dentistry program at University of Montreal and graduating in 2006. She went on to do a residency at the prestigious University of Rochester ‘’Eastman Institute for Oral Health’’. She is a Fellow and Master of International Congress of Oral Implantologists and completed the Misch Institute Surgical and Prosthetics training under Carl Misch as well as a surgical mini-residency program at Cairo University in Egypt. She has advanced training in Alloderm technique, prf and prgf and cad-cam prosthetics. Her fields of interests are co-diagnostix guided surgery and soft tissue management. She frequently lectures on gum grafting technique as well as peri-implantitis diagnosis, management and prevention.
Dr Vinh Giap Nguyen obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgeon degree at McGill University, Montreal in 1987. In 2014, he was awarded a Masters of Science degree in Implantology from Goëthe University in Frankfurt, Germany. Since 2016, he has been an Accredited Tutor for the Master of Implantology Program at Goëthe University.
He was an invited speaker at the International Scientific Symposium 'Innovation Jumps in Oral Implantology' in 2015, Frankfurt am Main, Germany on the subject of Ridge Splitting for Expansion, and in 2017 on The Clinical protocol on the Socket shield technique.
He focuses his practice in Implantology and Temporomandibular Joint disorder and Craniofacial Pain.

Dr. Paul Newitt graduated from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Dentistry in 1993 and in 1994 completed an Internship in Oral Medicine at the BC Cancer Agency under the mentorship of Dr Joel Epstein. He began private practice in 1995 and opened his clinic,
smile.ca in Vancouver in 1999.
Dr. Newitt has focused heavily on microscope enhanced, laser assisted, cosmetic and Implant dentistry since obtaining his Microscopy training at the Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute in 2005.
Dr Newitt established and managed Canada’s first laser study group with Dr Glenn Van As from 2004 to 2011 and had the honour of having Dr. Theadore Maiman, the Inventor of the worlds first working laser, as a member and friend. In 2005 & 2006 Dr Newitt developed and organized the Laser Convergence Symposiums, in Vancouver B.C. where international speakers and companies specializing in the field of Laser Dentistry presented the latest clinical and technological advances.
Dr Newitt obtained his Cosmetic Dentistry training between 2008 and 2011 with the California Centre for Advanced Dental Studies before becoming a Clinical Instructor for that same group and later, the Frontier Institute at the University of British Columbia. At this time Dr Newitt was also running, in conjunction with Dr Adam Pite, the Aesthetic Boot Camp study clubs, focused on smile design and aesthetic dentistry.
In 2016, Dr Newitt collaborated with Dr William Liang and established BITE CLUB, the Basic Implant Training and Education Club, which focuses on the restorative/prosthetic aspects of Implantology. By 2018 BITE CLUB study clubs were running in Vancouver, Victoria and White Rock, British Columbia.
Dr. Newitt is a Graduate of the A.A.I.D Vancouver Maxicourse, where he is now Associate Faculty, has been a member of the Vancouver Continuum Implant Study Club for the last four years, and is an Associate Fellow and active member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He is currently in the process of obtaining his Diplomate certification through the American Board of Oral Implantology.
